lauren robertson
Lauren Robertson is a self taught landscape artist that draws on the inspiration from her mother and sister’s background in ink, sculpture and painting.
Working with acrylic and oil pastel, her artwork focuses mainly on the interaction of light with landscape elements- namely how light changes color and form in the environment.
She finds inspiration in nature’s constant motion- light shifts, leaves fall, waves crash- and landscape painting captures these fleeting moments. It becomes a meditation on impermanence.
And yet again, in a world with so much disconnection, landscapes serve as a form of grounding- a return to what is real and enduring.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and Masters in Public Health from the University of Georgia. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and currently resides in Richmond, VA with her husband and three boys.
